The composers listed below well represent American concert music of the 20th century. Each has composed many works intended for performance in classical music concert halls. As Hollywood evolved to become the center of American filmmaking, it created a great demand for new orchestral music. The composers listed below have each scored highly regarded films. For this paper you will select a composer, research their film music catalog, select a film, view it and write a critical review. 

Composers to choose from are... Aaron Copland, John Corigliano, Phillip Glass, Leonard Bernstein.

Include: 

1. Composer's biographical profile including their reputation and standing among other American composers. 

2. What was their view of film music? Did they hold it in high regard? What initially motivated them to score a film?

3. How did their score function in the film? Was it widely present or sporadically placed?

4. Were they able to successfully maintain their artistic identitiy or did they defer to the director's vision?

5. Conclude with your personal critique and suggestions to the reader.
