Page limit: 3 to 4 pages, double spacing, 1 inch margins (all around), 12 point font (Times New Roman, Calibri or Arial). Provide References!

Compare the claims in the news report and the original conclusions in the actual research paper. Is the news report accurate? Are they consistent? Does the study have some qualifications or caveats that the news report failed to mention? Are there any bias in the original paper that the news report failed to say? And finally, what is your overall impression about the paper and news report?

Concepts you may want to highlight are: Does the published study look sound to you?  Are there limitations or confounding factors that the original authors site that are ignored by the popular press?  Are the conclusions reached by the popular press the same as those presented by the authors?

Please don't go too farther to try to dig out everything related. This is an epidemiological course, not medicine or sociology course. We are interested in the methods, not the disease or condition per se.
