Lab 9: Reproduction Know the difference between asexual and sexual reproduction. Be familiar with the various types of asexual reproduction. Be able to identify the various types of asexual reproduction on the slides and in the photographs seen in lab. o Budding, fragmentation, spore formation, binary fission, tissue culture Be able to identify sexual reproductive structures on the following models: o Sea star, hydra, human male, human female, flower, and tapeworm Know the difference between Cloning and In-Vitro Fertilization

Lab 10: Mendelian Genetics and DNA Be able to perform and analyze a simple Mendelian cross: - Phenotypes of parents, genotypes of parents, gametes produced by parents - Probabilities of genotypes and phenotypes appearing in the offspring - Phenotypic ratios, genotypic ratios of offspring Be able to perform and analyze sex-linked and blood type problems. Know ABO blood typing system and genotypes Know the procedure for testing blood types and how to analyze results Be familiar with sex-linked traits and how traits are passed to offspring Know what a Karyotype is and how homologous chromosomes are matched up Be familiar with all terminology (homozygous, heterozygous, etc) Know the parts of the DNA model Be familiar with complementary nitrogenous base pairing Be familiar with Human Genome Project (benefits and gene testing)

Lab 11: Diversity 1- Kingdoms Monera, Protista, and Fungi Be familiar with the characteristics of these three kingdoms of life. Be able to identify representative specimens seen in lab (macroscopic and microscopic) Know how to use a dichotomous key to identify a given specimen.

Lab 12: Diversity 2- Kingdoms Plantae and Animalia Be familiar with the characteristics of these two kingdoms of life. Be able to identify representative specimens seen in lab. Know how to use a dichotomous key to identify a given specimen.
