Marketers are looking for new ways for gathering information about target markets and increasing product sales and are looking at social marketing as a way to do so. A recent survey by a marketing company indicates that over half of consumers (51%) want to be able to talk about companies without them listening. 43% of consumers think listening to conversations intrudes on privacy.
